I'm not a programmer and Visual Scripting was always interesting to me.
I've tried other Visual Scripting in other game engines and just gave a quick try to Catnip.
Based on my experience with other visual scripting game engines, I would like to suggest some improvements to make the users life easier and more accessible if possible.
If anyone have useful ideas / suggestions please feel free to add to this post.
1 - UNDO / REDO support for the visual scripting:
I drag & drop some things and regret but CTRL+Z didn't do anything so I had to delete / remove them manually and that could be a VERY useful feature.
2 - Auto Completion:
There are MANY options to choose from (just like Lego pieces) which is AWESOME!
I understand that we can SEARCH for something if we click on the PLUS above/under.
but… in most cases it's not enough, for example: it will be VERY HELPFUL to start typing in ANY container and give us the same "search" via LIST of relevant options base on what we started to type.
For example "GDevelop" does something similar, I remember before they had this it was really hard to look for things manually but once they've added this, it's MUCH faster to look for what you're looking for without manually browsing all the options.
I still have MUCH MORE ideas (UI / Design / Cosmetics / Mechanics etc..) but this post is already long enough.
I have a very positive feeling about CTJS Visual Scripting and hope to see more and more improvements to come.
